Whimsical Wandering

Hello! It feels very good to be back and writing blog posts again as I've been away so long you've probably forgotten who I am. I found it really good to take some time to myself and settle into university life and my course, which I have definitely done! As much as I love blogging, I've been doing a lot of grown up stuff and I think I now have worked out a good blogging/work/life balance.

If you should describe my style my style at the moment it would be whimsical. I love  pastel colours, floral prints, and whimsical is just a very nice word. I've been wearing a lot of floaty and feminine clothes lately, and this is one of my favourite outfits. The prints on the blue skirt are really balanced out by the baggy pink t-shirt and the fun colourful shell bag is such a statement piece.

This bag is from skinnydip and I am so obsessed with it! It's so shiny and looks amazing when you put it in different lights.

This T-shirt is from H&M and fits so nicely and makes me feel so confident. (I can't really say the same about H&M's sizing, but you know.) The skirt is from Miss Selfridge and cost a grand total of six pounds. I love sales.

The perfect addition to this outfit? A flower crown, of course. My collection is constantly growing. I don't have a problem, I can stop any time I want.

Hope you enjoyed this post and look out for lots of Halloween posts over the next week!

Neon Exhibition and Blackpool Photography

I love Blackpool. Let's be honest, not many people would say that; it's unbelievably tacky, rains about 363 days of the year, but I think it has a really lovely charm to it. As I grew up visiting every year for the illuminations, I have such happy memories there and I think the place has such a nice atmosphere.
I went to see the exhibition Neon: The Charged Line. I got so excited when I found out I was going because I am obsessed with neon signs. This exhibition was a photographers dream: so bright, colourful and shiny. I also had time to visit some of my favourite spots in Blackpool; Coral Island arcade, which was also full of neon from the games and the lights. I also visited the north pier arcades which were a lot more deserted, but I found a really interesting beauty in it. I think there is such a hidden beauty in Blackpool that people need to see beyond cheap tat and hen nights.

Pink Princess Room Tour

Since my room will not be looking like this soon as I will be moving out in two days (!) I decided to  document it's current style. It has been decorated pink for the past 5 or 6 years (see mum, I told you I wouldn't grow out of it!) And I think my room is super pretty and should be shared with the internet. Apart from the super untidy parts, but let's nor talk about that. Maybe this video will give you inspiration for decorating your own room, or maybe you're just incredibly nosy.

A hello kitty border which I STILL haven't finished putting up. Sad that it was not to be. I really like this border because of the light pink pastel stripes, and it goes so well with the pink walls. Hello kitty is wearing a rather fetching pink bow outfit and seems to have a mouse friend, which realistically would never happen in real life.

The teddy bears and cushions that sleep on my bed every day. The first is a cat cushion which is less cute and more creepy, those ears are questionable. Next is my pink unicorn Benjamin. No idea where that name came from, by the way. Then I've got my sadly unnamed gingerbread man, who I imagine is boiling in that hat and scarf in this weather. My pink glittery shell cushion really sparkles in the light and is one of my favourite things in my room.

My dressing table, which is probably the best thing about my room, so chaotic and pretty. I have some of my flower crowns to finish off my outfit, lots of makeup scattered around, in my makeup bag and in drawers. I've got my favourite colourful palettes from Barry M and Makeup Revolution. The best bit is my laptop, which is write my blog posts on, edit my videos, read fashion articles and do my regular stalking sessions.

A cute heart shaped photo frame which for some reason, has no photos on it? And a canvas of some cupcakes, which thankfully will not make me spotty because they are not real. It might be hard to believe, but they are not real.

Lovely little details - pink glass chandelier and pretty heart wooden type thing.

These are some of my favourite accessories on my bedside table.

More Teddy bears: Chloe, my hello kitty build a bear who is close to ten years old. Cody, my Australian build a bear koala who is the cuddliest thing in the world! Then two teddy bears I got for my sixteenth birthday two years ago that were never named. Shame they don't have any identity. Buried under the teddy bear mountain is Annabelle, my 13 year old baby doll. Soon she'll have spots and want me to take her to a Little Mix concert.

Really hope you enjoyed! This was a really fun post to write! In a week or so when I'm settled in to my university accommodation I will do a new room tour over on my youtube channel. While you're here, please go and subscribe to my channel as I work very hard it and I'm planning some very exciting things to come on there.

Love Magazine Autumn/Winter Issue: Review

This week when I was out shopping I decided to treat myself to a fashion magazine, they are an amazing source of inspiration, especially since I am starting university soon I will need to be reading lots of magazines. Love magazine is mesmerizing to me, full of really creative fashion editorials, in depth interviews where you really get a feel of a person and super cute doodles all over the pages. The makeup is colourful, crazy and fun. Love is definitely not your average magazine.

I love how each issue has a theme. The Autumn/Winter theme is goths and youth, and the whole issue runs wild with the theme. The styling and photography is so beautifully done and has got me right in the mood for Halloween. The stand out article was Margot Robbie and Cara Delevinge interviewing each other. It was no typical interview though, they chatted away about famous people they had in their phone and the weirdest place they'd ever had sex. It really made you want to be their best friends.

I'm such a big nerd when it comes to LETTERING. The flowers twisting round the Love logo is so intricate, and this sort of detailing is what makes the design of the magazine so beautiful.

In the magazine the photography is quite often weird and unusual. I love the two different colours of lipstick on this photograph, it's a really striking, strange image. So I love that this is the contents page so it really gives you a feel for the magazine.

The photoshoot with models licking and biting certain objects is probably my favourite photoshoot in the whole issue. It shows the glossiness of the lipstick and is the sort of thing that would be considered too dirty or disgusting to be in another magazine, but Love really pushes the boundaries and it's really interesting to look at.

The gothic styling in this issue is so magical.

Black and white shots can be really stunning and remind me of old Hollywood movie stills. A lot of the photographs are really atmospheric and look almost like candid shots.

This photoshoot with Kaia Gerber was great because the styling and scenery was very casual and summery. Several of the shots were taken on the beach and with sun setting, so it had a really beachy feel to it.
I love grungey makeup and hair, definitely something I will be experimenting more with in Autumn.

DOGS!!!!!! "humans, why have you put this sheet over us to try and be artsy. The things I go through in my dog modelling jobs, it's all worth it in the end because I get sausage" - what I imagine the dogs might say in this shot. Very well done great modelling doggos.

To sum up, Love is probably the best fashion magazine out there, and there are dogs in this issue. Golden Retrievers as well. Enough said, I think.

Styling a Jazzy Vintage Colourful T-shirt

The weather is very frustrating at the moment, it's that time of year when you could die of heatstroke or freeze to death, so deciding what to wear is such a challenge. However I think that this cute top works so well for this time of year. I spotted it in one of my favourite vintage shops in Manchester, Cow. It stood out to me immediately for it's fun, jazzy, bright colours. It can be worn in very hot September days with a pair of shorts. It can also be worn with tights and shorts, jeans and jackets and shirts. Layers are definitely a good idea in September time.

I love the splashes of rainbow colour on this t-shirt.

A flower crown is the perfect way to accessorize this look because there are plenty of colourful flowers on it, which are similar to the colours on the t-shirt, so the look goes together really well. I really like these skinny jeans, it's quite unusual for me to wear jeans but I'm really starting to love them! This pair is from H&M and the fit is amazing.

Layering is absolutely key for autumn, this oversized purple shirt that I got from a charity shop is so cool. It also adds a nice block of colour to the outfit.

An oversized blazer smartens the outfit up a bit more and can be worn for more formal occasions. Adding a pair of black heels makes the outfit dressy but still cute and colourful.

How To Style an Oversized T-shirt

I love wearing big, oversized t-shirts. They look so cool and casual, and there are so many ways to style them! This t-shirt was a find from the men's section of a vintage shop in Manchester. I always check the men's section as I really like to wear baggy clothes and you can sometimes find some really cool items. I love the tie dye print in purple and yellow. and it makes a nice change from the close fitting women's clothes I mainly own, as I am usually really girly and feminine, it's nice to break out of that sometimes. I did this blog post with GIFs which is something I always wanted to do and they look so much more interesting than flat photos.

1) Wear with fishnet tights

2) Wear over a denim short
I liked the ripped, faded style of these shorts that look that look almost vintage. Tuck in some of the t-shirt so the shorts just peek out for a cool, effortless style.

3) Throw on a denim jacket
I love to layer things over an oversized shirt, such as denim jackets and checked shirts, which is not only cute but also very appropriate for British weather!

4) Roll up the sleeves

5) Throw on over some skinny jeans

6) Accesorise with chokers and a flower crown

7) Wear a belt to tighten the waist

Hope you enjoyed this different sort of post! How would you style an oversized t-shirt?
