A makeup look for a princess

Since the newest royal baby, Princess Charlotte, was born, I kept thinking about how amazing it would be to be born a princess. So the closest I'm going to get (sadly) is to put together a pretty and pink makeup to make me feel like a princess.

Products used:

♡ Barry M blusher

If you want a pretty flush of pink on your cheeks, this is the blusher for you. It's also quite light and subtle so you don't look like you've over done it. The perfect blusher for a princess!

♡ Barry M wink liquid eyeliner

This eyeliner is so easy to use and perfect for if you have a shaky hand like me. I feel a lot more confident applying eyeliner as I have been practising with this one. I would definitely recommend for eyeliner beginners!

♡ Collection super size fat lash mascara

I'm always looking for a great budget mascara that gives my lashes lots of volume and length. Whilst this mascara is not perfect, it's the best I've used to far and I would definitely recommend!

♡ Collection lasting perfection powder

I've used collection's lasting perfection concealer for a while, so I expected good things from this powder. I think I will continue to buy this powder as it's perfect for my skin tone, gives great coverage and is amazing value for money!

♡ Makeup academy poptastic eyeshadow palette

I used the pink and purple shades of this palette, blending them together. I love blending different shades of eyeshadow together at the moment.

Now you too can feel like a princess! What are your favourite beauty products at the moment?

Take a trip to the sea, let your hair run free

Over the Easter holidays I went to Wales and captured some of the beautiful sunshine in photographic form.

Mint and turquoise are some of my favourite colours at the moment, they're so fresh and bright. They match the blue sky!

Collecting shells on the beach is something I'll never get too old for, and I love the unique little details in them.

These jelly shoes I got from Ark remind me of Cinderella's glass slipper's- so adorable! They go really well with me tinkerbell tattoo tights. I love dressing like a fairy tale at the moment.

Sand dunes are beautiful, but as it turns out: not jelly shoes proof.

I love stealing my mum's denim jacket for when it gets chilly.

My make-up look for the evening inspired by the universe.

I've also made a new instagram, leave me your username so I can follow you!

DIY: 60's/70's style flower headband

As you may know, I am a big fan of a DIY, and recently I've been buying craft supplies and making pretty things. My favourite thing I've made recently is this headband. It fits in perfectly with this years' 70's trend, and it is perfect for summer.

Everything in this DIY I bought at hobbycraft.

How to make:

1) Buy some floral material/ribbon of your choice from a craft shop. You won't need to get more than half a metre.

2) Measure the material around your head and cut off what you don't need.

3) Attach some 'snap fasteners' to each side of the headband. Secure the snap fasteners in place with fabric glue or a needle and thread, whichever's easiest for you.

Then it should look something like this!

If you used the fabric glue, wait the recommended drying time. Then, you can wear your headband and sit in a field of daises. Probably not though, it's a bit cold.

Have an amazing Easter weekend! Let me know what you think of this DIY!

Smashing mics in karaoke bars

What I'm wearing:
Mint crop top: Influence at Ark / Pink disco pants: Glamorous at Thunder Egg/ Flower headband: made by me

I think the mint green of the crop top and the bright pink of the disco pants go together beautifully. This outfit is perfect for this time of year because the pants are very comfortable and keep you nice and warm, and the crop top it light and summery. I loved making this little headband, (they'll be a DIY coming soon!) It's getting me in to the summer mood already.

What I'm listening to:

♥  Greek tragedy & Give me a try  // The Wombats

I'd never been a massive fan of The Wombats before, I liked Let's Dance To Joy Division, but when I stumbled across these two songs I completely fell in love. Greek tragedy is a sad yet uplifting song, and Give me a try is a really happy and energising song, perfect for parties and workouts.

♥ King, Desire & Take Shelter // Years & Years

Years & Years are the one band I've been going to lately when I want music to dance to. Their music puts me in the best mood and gets me looking forward to the weekend and feeling optimistic. I particularly love 'Desire' I've been playing it constantly. It really makes me want to go to a party!

Make-up I'm wearing:
Barry M  142 lip paint / Makeup academy 'poptastic' palette / Collection lasting perfection powder

See you soon, only one more week until the easter holidays!

Newest doodles and photographs

There's nothing I like better than sitting down with colouring pencils and draw whatever's in my imagination. It's great to express your creativity and get your feelings out. I like to take my phone out with me and take pictures with inspiring little things I see.

This doodle combines girly and sweet things: lipstick and flowers and sweets wrapped up.

Adding a little faux fur to my outfit makes me feel like a fairy, a nymph or a goddess. (Believe it or not I am almost an adult)

A cupcake with some little flowers on top, which was kind of inspired by Lush's sex bomb.

I find it really hard to walk in to a fabric or craft shop and not buy some new ribbon.

Do you like to doodle? What do you take pictures of? Let me know!

DIY: Easy Spring Flower Choker!

This is really easy and cheap choker to make, and I think the end results are absolutely beautiful. You can make it in under 10 minutes!

All the things you can get very easily from craft shops. I got my ribbon and flowers from the bead shop in Affleck's Palace.

♥ Ribbon

♥ Tiny fabric flowers

♥ Scissors (snip snip)

♥ Fabric glue

1) Measure around your neck to find out how big you need your choker to be. Then cut your ribbon to this size.

2) Cut the tiny fabric flowers off the stalk and arrange them on to your ribbon.

3) Put a little spot of glue where you would like each flower to go, then stick them down.

4) Wait the recommended time for your fabric glue to dry.

Now you're done! And you can be the cutest girl around with your new choker!

What I'll be wearing in spring/summer

I've found that inspiration posts are the most fun posts to write, it's so fun to get inspired! Since it's march and it's getting a little bit warmer, I've been thinking about what to wear in the summer.

1) The 'pastel candy Barbie'

Pastels are the big trend for this summer, and they'll be big in summer 2016 as well. I love how playful pastel clothes are, they remind me of summers from my childhood. For a look that it sweet as pie, I'll be accessorising my outfits with scrunchies, lace socks, lilac lipstick and popcorn purses. I'll also be buying plain t-shirts and tie dying them in beautiful pastel colours.

2) The 'glitzy hippie mermaid' what does that even mean Melissa?!
The new styles appearing in Ark have a very cool hippie and bohemian vibe. I'm combining this DIY faux fur and sequins, making gorgeous things for super cheap. I've also been going on about the holographic trend since last summer, and I'm still utterly obsessed. Put on a good old flower crown and I'll be very, very happy this summer.

The colours I'll be wearing are mainly pastels; light lilac, light green, light blue and light yellow. Knowing myself though, I'll probably end up just wearing pink.

I'm getting a lot of my inspiration lately from instagram. Joanna Kuchta's kitten inspired style is so sweet. For hairspiration, I've been looking to amythemermaid on instagram. (I can't believe her hair is completely rainbow coloured!' As usual I've been looking to the 90's a lot for inspiration. I love 1999 Britney Spears' style, 90's Barbie and Cher Hororitz. As for bloggers, I'm obsessed with lultrixablle's and Kayla Hadlington's looks.

What will you be wearing this spring/ summer? Let me know!
