Get The Look: Matty Healy

Shirt: Charity shop / Jeans: H&M

I absolutely love The 1975's music. I'm also incredibly inspired by the band's frontman Matty Healy's style. Unbuttoned shirts, ripped black jeans, denim jackets are a cute, casual alternative style.

Usually I go for a more feminine and girly style and stay way away from jeans, but Matty's style has inspired me to wear more oversized boyfriend style shirts. When I found this shirt in a charity shop it was very large, but when I tried it on I loved the way it hangs and reminds me of the way Matty wears his shirts.

It is very unlike me to wear jeans, but I decided to dig out a pair of my black jeans and cut some rips in the knees which make them look way more edgy and 'worn'

This shirt is like something Matty would wear, I've never seen him wear sparkly shirts before but I definitely think he would. I would love to get some arm and chest tattoos like his as well (though my mother would be very disappointed in me)

It's great to see more guys wearing makeup and the smudgy eyeliner in 'The Sound' music video is amazing. I went for smudgy black eyeliner on my waterline and blue eye shadow on my top lids, which is inspired by the 'Love Me' music video.

What do you think of Matty's style? Are there any other celebrities (or fictional character's) style you love? Let me know and I might do a blog post on them in the future!

July Music Playlist

Here's what I've been listening to this month...

- If you like The 1975, you're sure to like Blossoms, an amazing new band from Manchester. Their songs Charlemagne and At Most A Kiss are fun indie psychedelic pop and are great for dancing during the rest of summer.

- Heathrow is a soothing acoustic-y song, and probably my favourite song from Catfish and The Bottlemen's new album. It is a good song for long car journeys and also good for listening in the dark. It is a very sweet romantic song that reminds me of a track from their first album 'Hourglass'

- My current obsession is Panic! At The Disco (I'm very late to the party, didn't have a scene phase until age 18.) This is the perfect party song and is so infectious, you'll be singing it in no time!

- Last summer I became obsessed with Don Broco and their albums 'Automatic' and 'Priorities' and thus song is already my new favourite. It's perfect if you want to get into more rock music but also love a good catchy song. I can't stop playing it!

What music are you listening to at the moment? What would you recommend?

Dainty Lace Angel | OOTD

Over the weekend I went shopping and the minute I saw this dress from H&M, I feel immediately in love. I never found a dress that was more 'me', it's a cute 70's style, but also reminds me of Japanese gyru style. the perfect short length, a pastel pink colour with all my favourite details like lace and pleats.

I paired some pretty lilac jelly shoes. I love pale pastel colours together. Finally we have some sun here in the UK so I was able to get outside and take some nice pictures. I love the way these pictures are so sunkissed, the sunlight just hits the shot.

The sleeves have a cute cap style and make me feel really floaty. I love the delicate little details.

I made a summer lookbook for youtube of all of my favourite pretty pink summer dresses. If you like this post, check it out!

Have you made any amazing purchases lately? How's your summer going so far?

A Look Inside My Summer Makeup Bag | Cruelty Free

Over the past year I have been transitioning to cruelty free, so I have not been buying any beauty products tested on animals, as it's incredibly unnecessary. However, it's not easy to go cruelty free and I've made mistakes as sometimes companies animal testing polices are confusing. Everything in my summer makeup bag is bought from companies who do not test on animals. So not only are the products pretty and work for me, not bunnies were tortured to make them!

♡ Makeup Revolution Scandalous Crime Lipstick
This is a gorgeous bright pink shade that is incredibly pigmented, the colour is amazing quality and hard to believe it is £1!!!

♡ Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Concealer
My favourite concealer used to be Collection Lasting Perfection but when I found out they weren't cruelty free, I was absolutely gutted. So I searched for a cruelty free dupe and found this one which works just as well, the coverage is brilliant and is an absolute bargain at £2.

♡ Soap and Glory Love At First Blush
This doubles up as a highlighter because the the pink, white and nude shades are very shiny. I need to apply several coats as it doesn't show up as well on my pale skin. However I do think it is nice and natural and subtle.

♡ MUA Makeup Academy Mega Volume Mascara
I absolutely love MUA mascaras, this one makes my eyelashes look so big and beautiful. Perfect for fluttering your eyelashes at someone cute! They weren't lying about 'mega volume' it really is mega volume, well named.

♡ Soap and Glory Hand Food, Instant Sun-kissed Tint Body Lotion
Summer means showing my legs a lot more, so I want to look more tanned, like I've been in the sun and not just sitting on my laptop all day. When you open the bottle it just smells of holidays and warm weather, I'm sure you know the smell! It does give a beautiful colour, though it washes off very quickly. I love the hand food as it's very important to feed your hands they get hungry.

♡ Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lipgloss
I've been carrying this around since Christmas, it's a lovely pinkish nude shade that is ideal for sprinkling at bit of glitter over. It's great for summer days when I don't feel like wearing makeup. And also, it tastes like chocolate. I don't eat my lipgloss, but it tastes like chocolate on my lips.

Hope you enjoyed, have you tried any of these products? What are your favourite beauty products for summer right now?

Midnight Sparkles // OOTN

Going on a night out is a great time to get dressed up, choosing my dress, makeup and accessories feels like I'm picking from the dressing up box when I was younger. My enthusiasm for fashion has remained the same.

To make a bold statement I decided to go with some bright, pink, glittery scrunchies in bunches in my hair. As a contrasting colour I when for a bright lilac lipstick and a heart choker. I think the accessories are coordinated well.

I adore velvet. This outfit has a touch of gothic without being too extreme. The purple glittery socks contrast so well with the blue velvet.

Mary jane heels are absolutely perfect with thigh high socks which would be a perfect trend for Autumn (as we have been getting so much Autumn weather lately it doesn't even feel like summer.) This would also work so well with a tartan skirt for an ultimate schoolgirl prep look.

The back of the dress is so beautiful, an open back and a gorgeous long bow (though unfortunately the pictures don't do it much justice)

Hope you enjoyed seeing this look, let me know what you thought and if you have time, please check out my new youtube channel! I will be focusing on creative makeup looks, style lookbooks, hauls and vintage fashion. Here's my most recent video if you want to look like a mermaid...

My Style Inspiration: Summer 2016

I'm constantly gathering inspiration for my own personal style. One of my favourite past times is endlessly scrolling through pinterest for inspiration and saving them into neat little folders. Since I was younger I've loved poring over fashion magazines, cutting out my favourite pictures and putting them into scrapbooks. Now I'm older and absolutely love looking at a wide range of influences such as music, art, photography and bloggers. Here's what I've been obsessed with for summer...

Petra Collins's photography just sums up summer and being a teenager. You can see the sun setting in so many of her pictures and it just looks so dreamy. A lot of the pictures are taken at night which is so atmospheric and pretty. You feel like you are really there with the girls in her photographs. She is a great inspiration for my OOTD pictures.

Festivals are full of fun fashion, coachella is like another fashion week with all the amazing outfits. People seem to take more fashion risks- giant headbands, glittery face paints, colourful clothes. I really want to go to a festival because I have so many outfits planned!

I am really interested in Japanese fashion subcultures- gyaru, lolita, harajuku. They dress like actual princesses! *squeals* I love all the bows, frills, lace and satin. Some of it is way too out there for me but I can take inspiration and make it more my everyday style.

Thank you for reading, what inspires you?

Rainbow Makeup Look

In spite of the rainy miserable weather in the UK, I'm bringing you a colourful rainbow makeup look to hopefully brighten things up! I've been playing about with different colours and shades since I got the Colour Chaos palette by Makeup Revolution. This would be the perfect look for a pride festival this summer!

The palette has all the colours of the rainbow and are extremely pigmented, so your sure to get noticed.

The pink and yellow shades look so beautiful together. Adding some bright colour to the eyebrows looks extremely unique and I've always been too scared to try it as it is so 'out there' but this looks quite subtle and really goes with the look.

Tell me what you thought of this post, see you soon xxx
