What I would wear if I was going to prom

Sadly I am not going to prom this year as I have just finished college and we don't have a prom. I had such an amazing time at my prom two years ago (the pictures are here) and one of my favourite things was choosing my dress, deciding my hair and makeup. If you are going to prom here are last minute ideas for dresses, accessories and makeup! (and I am a pretty envious of you!) I hope you will have an amazing night.

Peachy, nude and pink shades make up this incredibly cute look. A 50's style dress always looks great for prom, wear a tutu underskirt underneath so the dress really sticks out. Add a spritz of flowery, romantic perfume.

If you don't want to go for a typical girly prom look, this black dress from the Ariana Grande collection at Lipsy is so gorgeous. A black flower crown and suspender tights complete the look. If you're feeling really daring try some black lipstick (which will really shock your teachers!)

For a pretty fairy tale look, try a tiara which I would have loved to wear at my own prom. Or go for a flower crown which is equally as beautiful. A simple but stunning white dress is understated and doesn't need too many accessories or makeup. Simple makeup including light pink makeup is perfect.

Have a good prom, you will look beautiful no matter what you wear! What is your favourite look?

Pink Bow Mermaid OOTD

The Ragged Priest top / New Look flower headband / H&M sequin skirt

My absolute weakness is hair bows so when is saw this crop top with a pink bow on it, i died! It's on of the most 'me' items of clothing I own and I'm starting to feel like I'm really starting to develop my own style. The pictures of this sequin skirt really don't do it justice, it sparkles in different colours and really reminds me of fish scales so it definitely feels like I'm wearing my own mermaid tail. My hair has really grown a lot recently which really completes look as I have always wanted long mermaid hair.

Review: Makeup Revolution Unicorns Unite Palette | Cruelty Free

Recently I discovered my new favourite makeup brand, Makeup Revolution! After discovering they don't test their products or ingredients on animals, I decided to give them a try and at £4.99 it is a bargain! I found the colours to be incredibly pigmented, much more so than more expensive palettes I have tried in the past. I am so in love with all the shades, they are so magical and perfect for experimenting with really unique looks! The shades are incredibly bright and maybe not for an everyday look, but you will definitely look like a colourful unicorn at parties!

The packaging is super pretty and colourful, the pictures really don't do it justice. it is a purple holographic card, I definitely think a unicorn would approve!

I mixed the shimmer grey and the matte pink shades and I really like the mixture of the two. I am working on blending different shades together.

Have you tried this palette? Have you tried any other Makeup Revolution products?

University Of Central Lancashire fashion degree show

Hello! Today I went to the university I will hopefully be attending in September, and I was so impressed with the students work! The courses were Fashion Promotion (which I am so excited to be studying), Fashion Promotion with Styling, Fashion Design, Fashion Brand Management and Digital Design for fashion.

I left feeling so inspired and so enthusiastic to start the course.

From the Fashion Promotion graduates, I loved this students work which was a brand concept for a new collection at Lush. I love how you learn all aspects of the industry on the course; marketing, photography, graphic design, social media and even blogging!

One of my favourite projects was a brand concept for Skinnydip London, it is so youthful and creative and definitely the sort of brand I would choose. And the exhibition is so colourful and pretty!

The styling work was amazing, especially this 'prom queens' project which was all pretty and feminine and edgy. There was also a feminist zine which reminded me so much of the Rookie yearbooks, such a nice touch.

There were some unique, out of the box ideas unrelated to fashion. This was for a vegan milkshake shop in Manchester which I really wish was was a thing! This was especially impressive with the app and the little milkshake shop prototype. Reminds me of shops I used to make when I was little!

Hope you found this post interesting and I'll see you all soon!

My dream summer wardrobe

One of my favourite things about summer starting is buying new clothes, and a lot of preparation is needed before you hit the shops. Here are some of the things I have my eye on to buy, and also some dream items I'd love to have in my wardrobe. I spent lots of time making these collages, hope you enjoy!

Skinny dip London purses // Ann summers corset // Boohoo dress // Claires flower headband // Topshop shorts // UNIF top // Illustrated people crop top // Juju jelly shoes

Evening dresses are a must for summer, I love this iridescent Boohoo dress because of the beautiful sparkles which will make me feel like a mermaid! The perfect accessory is a  dainty flower crown.

I would really like to stock up on some more shorts now the weather is warmer, they're a staple piece
that come in any colour under the sun and can be styled any way. For example with a bikini top and jelly shoes for the beach, and a blazer, dressy top and heels for a night out!

Kitschy skinny dip London are so fun and really break the ice at parties.
UNIF backpack // Skinny dip London purse // Boohoo watermelon bralet // Motel dress // The ragged priest at Topshop anorak // Triangl bikini top // Topshop shorts // Juju jelly shoes

As you can see, I don't like bright colours or pink at all... just kidding. I'm absolutely obsessed with eating fruit, and I also enjoy wearing it. These little tops are so wear over a bikini and get on and off at the beach. If you're staying in the UK, you can't really rely on the weather so a gorgeous rain mac like this one is a must purchase. So even in torrential rain, you can still be a pretty kawaii space princess. I'm also seriously lusting after triangl bikini's, they come in all the gorgeous candy pastel colours.

What are your favourite things to wear in summer? What's on your current wishlist?

Summer goals 2016

I've just finished college forever, can't believe it's over! I have a long summer ahead of me before I head off to university in September, so I am going to dedicate some time to making things and working hard on m little blog, which I have been abandoning. I thought I would write down some more of the things I want to achieve so I don't get distracted!

1) Blog every single day

2) Become fully vegan (I'm already vegetarian and am transitioning at the moment)

4) Take lots of pictures and improve my photography

4) Make some pretty bows / headbands

4) Improve my running, and run 10K

5) Learn to cook and bake yummy vegan recipes before I start university

6) Keep a folder of swing tags and fashiony things that inspire me.

7) Most importantly, try and get out of my comfort zone more and speak to more people I don't know, and try and keep my anxiety under control.

Hope everyone reading has a happy summer, hopefully the weather is not as bad and rainy as it was this weekend!

Makeup and outfit of the day 10/06/16

Recently I have been trying to step out of my comfort zone more with clothes, so I decided to buy this adorable dress from Dorothy Perkins, even though it's not really the colours and patterns I would usually go for. It is perfect for hot summer days at the moment, and if it gets a bit chilly you can just layer a little white t-shirt underneath and pair it with a denim jacket.

I've always been too nervous to try this, but today I thought I would just be brave and try blue eyebrows! Okay, they are not perfect but a nice experiment and I don't look too much like an alien like I thought I would...

I decided to just go crazy today and practice a unique look so slicked on some bright purple lipstick, drew some multicoloured daises and even put a little star on my cheek.

This is one of my favourite quirky purses from accesorize. I still can't get over how it is in the shape of a rocket! It's the sort of thing younger Melissa would have died for, and instantly makes a boring outfit more fun.
