Carbs and Glitter

Carbs t shirt: H&M / Sequin skirt: Topshop / Moon and stars skirt: Motel Rocks / Choker: Affleck's Palace / Flower crown: Claire's accessories

When I first saw this cute 'carbs' t-shirt, I needed it! It encapsulates my love for potatoes and pasta perfectly, , is in a cute American preppy style which brings me one step closer to my childhood dream of becoming a cheerleader. I like the way this t-shirt looks 'worn' and casual. I love the contrast of it paired with a glitzy sequin skirt.

For a chilled out summer day, the top looks great with this Motel Rocks bodycon skirt. A pair of converse or vans would perfectly. I'm just hoping for another heatwave!

My go to accessory at the moment is a this lilac cat collar. I'm currently collecting accessories from Affleck's Palace, a shop in Manchester. All the stuff there is so cute! This collar is so kawaii and makes me feel like a cute little cat!

Hope you enjoyed this post, what are your plans for the rest of summer? See you soon!

Midnight Sparkles // OOTN

Going on a night out is a great time to get dressed up, choosing my dress, makeup and accessories feels like I'm picking from the dressing up box when I was younger. My enthusiasm for fashion has remained the same.

To make a bold statement I decided to go with some bright, pink, glittery scrunchies in bunches in my hair. As a contrasting colour I when for a bright lilac lipstick and a heart choker. I think the accessories are coordinated well.

I adore velvet. This outfit has a touch of gothic without being too extreme. The purple glittery socks contrast so well with the blue velvet.

Mary jane heels are absolutely perfect with thigh high socks which would be a perfect trend for Autumn (as we have been getting so much Autumn weather lately it doesn't even feel like summer.) This would also work so well with a tartan skirt for an ultimate schoolgirl prep look.

The back of the dress is so beautiful, an open back and a gorgeous long bow (though unfortunately the pictures don't do it much justice)

Hope you enjoyed seeing this look, let me know what you thought and if you have time, please check out my new youtube channel! I will be focusing on creative makeup looks, style lookbooks, hauls and vintage fashion. Here's my most recent video if you want to look like a mermaid...

Pink Bow Mermaid OOTD

The Ragged Priest top / New Look flower headband / H&M sequin skirt

My absolute weakness is hair bows so when is saw this crop top with a pink bow on it, i died! It's on of the most 'me' items of clothing I own and I'm starting to feel like I'm really starting to develop my own style. The pictures of this sequin skirt really don't do it justice, it sparkles in different colours and really reminds me of fish scales so it definitely feels like I'm wearing my own mermaid tail. My hair has really grown a lot recently which really completes look as I have always wanted long mermaid hair.

OOTD // liquid sarcasm and moon and stars

Crop top and skirt : Motel Rocks / Purse : Skinnydip London at Topshop

Most of my clothes are very colourful, so it is very unusual for me to wear black and white. I was really drawn to the moon, sun and stars print on this two piece set. It looks so magical and would be perfect for a summer concert or a night out. Now I just can't wait for the weather to get warmer!

The perfect addition for an evening outfit is this adorable Skinnydip purse. It's kitsch, quirky with a pop art vibe. It is perfect because very outfit needs something pink and glittery!

Yellow Sundress & Flowers

Summer has come to an end, the weather has become more cold and miserable. But that doesn't mean you can't brighten up the day with bright pastel colours!

I LOVE the summer sales because I am always wearing summer clothes in winter. It's a shame that the winter clothes colour pallete is so dull. I do enjoy darker colours from time to time, but I just think that brighter colours are much more fun!I just layer up with tights and jackets.

I added a cute colourful flower crown from H&M (yes I bought another one I know, my addiction is getting out of control) I like this one because it is a variety of different colours and includes turquiose blue and pink (which I adore.) It contrasts very well with my yellow dress.

I like to wear this dress either on it's own or with my flower waist belt, because you can never have too many flowers. To make this acceptable for rainy september Manchester weather, just add a pair of colourful tights and an oversized denim jacket! You can also dress it up for evenings with heels, but I'm mainly wearing it college lately. You can wear it with almost anything and for any occasion, it's so versatile!

Do you ever wear summer clothes in winter? If not, what do you wear?

Summer looks // the £3 charity shop dress

Charity shops are such cool places. You can find some amazing clothes for only a couple of pounds! However it does take A LOT of looking through racks to find something. Just be patient and search thoroughly. It's so worth it!

The dress is actaully a couple of sizes too big, which doesn't really matter because it has a cool 'oversized' look.

I love the mixture of the purple, pink, orange and yellow colours on the dress.

I accesorized the dress with some american flag converse, making the outfit casual and suitable for daytime. It can be worn for evening occasions as well.

Do you shop in charity shops? If you do, what are some of the best bargains you've ever got?

Crochet tops, ice creams and daydreams

Yesterday the sky was  blue and the sun was out and summer had finally began! The warm weather put me in such a positive state of mind and I am so happy to wear my summer clothes finally!

The perfect summer top

This top is so stunning, I love the little crochet detailing on it at the bottom. It's so comfortable and easy to pull on so you can look great and summer ready without making much effort! It's also perfect for putting on over bikini's.

The cutest bargain shorts

I found these adorable shorts (originally Topshop) in a charity shop for only £2.50, such a bargain! They are super versatile and can be worn casually for everyday, or dressed up with a crop top and heels for the evening.

The ideal (and delicious) summer purse

I'm literally addicted to fruit, so this bag makes me so hungry. Hopefully I don't eat it on the bus when my energy levels are low.

Hope you enjoy the beautiful sunny weather, loads more posts coming soon!

Take a trip to the sea, let your hair run free

Over the Easter holidays I went to Wales and captured some of the beautiful sunshine in photographic form.

Mint and turquoise are some of my favourite colours at the moment, they're so fresh and bright. They match the blue sky!

Collecting shells on the beach is something I'll never get too old for, and I love the unique little details in them.

These jelly shoes I got from Ark remind me of Cinderella's glass slipper's- so adorable! They go really well with me tinkerbell tattoo tights. I love dressing like a fairy tale at the moment.

Sand dunes are beautiful, but as it turns out: not jelly shoes proof.

I love stealing my mum's denim jacket for when it gets chilly.

My make-up look for the evening inspired by the universe.

I've also made a new instagram, leave me your username so I can follow you!

Smashing mics in karaoke bars

What I'm wearing:
Mint crop top: Influence at Ark / Pink disco pants: Glamorous at Thunder Egg/ Flower headband: made by me

I think the mint green of the crop top and the bright pink of the disco pants go together beautifully. This outfit is perfect for this time of year because the pants are very comfortable and keep you nice and warm, and the crop top it light and summery. I loved making this little headband, (they'll be a DIY coming soon!) It's getting me in to the summer mood already.

What I'm listening to:

♥  Greek tragedy & Give me a try  // The Wombats

I'd never been a massive fan of The Wombats before, I liked Let's Dance To Joy Division, but when I stumbled across these two songs I completely fell in love. Greek tragedy is a sad yet uplifting song, and Give me a try is a really happy and energising song, perfect for parties and workouts.

♥ King, Desire & Take Shelter // Years & Years

Years & Years are the one band I've been going to lately when I want music to dance to. Their music puts me in the best mood and gets me looking forward to the weekend and feeling optimistic. I particularly love 'Desire' I've been playing it constantly. It really makes me want to go to a party!

Make-up I'm wearing:
Barry M  142 lip paint / Makeup academy 'poptastic' palette / Collection lasting perfection powder

See you soon, only one more week until the easter holidays!

Barbie Girl

I've been in love with everything kitsch ever since I saw the Moschino Barbie collection. I was so happy when I saw this gorgeous little t-shirt at h&m.

Barbie was such a massive part of my childhood. She's had a lot of controversy in recent years for having such an unhealthy body image. However she has had over 150 careers! At a very young age dressing up my Barbie dolls and making clothes for them, I discovered I had a passion for fashion.

I think this metallic lilac bag I picked up from New Look is gorgeous and really fits in with the theme. I think it's definitely the sort of bag Barbie would put her school books in!

When I these pastel yellow checked socks in Primark, they really brought back memories of primary school! I think that bright and pastel pink really go with pastel yellow.

Since I'm in quite a nostalgic mood now, I put together this extremely cheese-filled 90's playlist on Spotify. I listened to all these songs when I was young so they all remind me of getting dressed up (and dressing up my dolls)

Isn't it midnight on the other side of the world

I've been putting together some really pretty outfits recently so I thought I would have a spontaneous photoshoot in my room (if you don't like pink, look away now)

I was obsessed with this ark playsuit for a while and I'm so glad I finally got it in the boxing day sales! The lacy side sleeves are really gorgeous and unique! I hate wearing a coat with this playsuit as I like showing it off. The stunning greek headband is from Miss Selfridge, this will be perfect the summer and evenings by the sea. To add a little bit of 90's and magic this blue quartz choker tops the outfit off.

This outfit is totally inappropriate for the weather currently (I was freezing taking these pictures!) But I cannot wait to wear them as it gets warmer. I've seen a lot of bloggers wear this motel moon and stars crop top in the summer and I've had my eye on it ever since. It was probably my best purchase in the boxing day sales!

It's far too cold too wear these shorts for quite a while, but when I saw them on the rail in Thunder Egg I just couldn't not get them. The intricate little detailing in the embroidery is so gorgeous and delicate. I have a feeling I'll be going on lots of adventures in these shorts!

I'm going to dye my hair pink soon (YAY!) but in the meantime I tried out some spray in hair colour, which was really gross and got all over my hands.

Have a lovely day, hope you all had a good Christmas holidays! See you soon, Melissa xx
